Wading for the Sun by jayalders Wading for the Sun by jayalders
The warm summer sun, waves peeling, the mesmerizing light reverberating through the ever-changing forms of the ocean and the sight of a beautiful girl wading towards the sea. For many of us, these things bring us passion, tranquility, maybe even envy.

the detail of 'bundinhas' is great!
don't loose it! can make it your personal mark!
clearly all these 'dat ass' commentors have never seen 'surrealistic' paintings before. The style exaggerates elements of the human body on purpose. I think this is compositionally fantastic and I could easily see this at an art auction
Thank you for your positive critique. I'm a huge surrealism fan.
Honestly, I clicked on this because DAT ASS. :icondatassplz:

Looking at the rest of the painting, I'm amazed. The textures you use are brilliant, and I love the mosaic stained-glass look of the water. The sun looks like something straight off a stained glass window. The lighting is perfect; you can almost feel the warmth of the sun and the cool water just looking at it.

I do have to say, though, the anatomy is VERY distracting. It's fine up until the butt, but that's just so very unrealistic that I can't get past it without forcing myself. I think perhaps a subtler line would have suited the subject better and would have drawn less attention away from the beautiful textures and colours of the rest of the painting.
Thanks for commenting. You can do your art your way, and I'll continue to do my art my way.

I was going to make a comment about her funny-shaped ass and the protusions on her back, but it looks like everyone has covered that already for me.

Joke aside, this is a beautiful piece. Love the color palette and the abstract shapes.

People don't bother to look at the rest of your gallery before getting offended or somehow personally upset that this piece was awarded a DD. I bet some of these same people would have much less volatile reactions looking at the work of Picasso.

The award is well earned, by my reckoning. You capture in paint every word in your description. That ocean and sky are amazing. Congratulations. :aww:
Thank you for your kindness. Controversy and negativity is part of success.

It is, and it's apparent that you deal with the negativity rather well. I'm not sure if it's easier to handle the negativity on a personal project or the disappointment at seeing so much blind negativity on something one isn't personally invested in.
